Make new friends.
Try something new.
Discover new interests.
4-H is a safe place to explore your interests and develop new ones.
You join 4-H through your local county.
Step 1: Go to your county 4-H Cooperative Extension office website.
Step 2: Find a Unit to join.
Your county 4-H office can let you know the units—or clubs—that are available in your county. Each club offers different projects. If the project you are looking for is available in a different unit, you may choose more than one unit in your county, but one has to be designated as your Primary Unit.
Click one of the buttons below to learn more about each type of unit.
Step 3: Contact the Club Leader or your county 4-H Representative.
Contact the Club Leader for the club you are interested in joining to let them know you are signing up for 4-H. They can give you more information about their club and the types of projects they offer.
Step 4: Choose a Project.
The Club Leader can let you know what projects are open for enrollment. You can choose the projects that sound interesting to you. Sign up for at least one project when you enroll.
4-H Projects are in one of four Focus Areas
Individual project offerings are different in each club/program, but all projects fall in four Focus Areas. Click a button below to learn more about the types of projects in each area.
Step 5: Create a profile in the enrollment system.*
*New enrollment system opening to families August 15, 2023.
- All family members are grouped together in one Household account.
- If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian login to submit your enrollment through the system.
- Please use an email address that you will check regularly. This email will be used to confirm your enrollment and send communications to you.

Step 6: Submit program fees.
You cannot submit enrollment fee payments through the 4-H enrollment system. Please work with your Unit Leader and UCCE 4-H office to pay enrollment fees. Some counties and clubs have additional fees added to the State 4-H fees.
Once your county 4-H office receives the completed enrollment and enrollment fees, they can update you in the enrollment system. Please check your Household email for an enrollment confirmation.
If you filled out a paper enrollment form, you will have to check with your county 4-H Program Representative for your membership status.
Once your membership is made Active, you can start participating in 4-H events and activities!
