Valerie, El Dorado County

Valerie, Shingle Springers 4-H Club, El Dorado County

Valerie Weber
Valerie was one of the leaders who first started the Shingle Springers 4-H Club, which has grown into one of the largest clubs in El Dorado County. She has been its Community Club Leader for nine years, the Swine Project leader for six years, and the El Dorado County Presentation Day Coordinator for six years.

She is most known for her efforts in organizing and running the county Presentation Day; as the Presentation Day Coordinator, Valerie has encouraged many 4-H members to give presentations and has incorporated a Judging Contest into the event to give further opportunities to 4-H members. She is sensitive to the different needs of all youth, and has made participation possible for those who are not yet ready to give their first presentation.

Valerie's enthusiasm has promoted the 4-H program throughout her county, getting new families involved in the club and various events. Valerie's positive example and leadership have been credited by one parent as the reason her children have excelled in the 4-H program.
