Alison was a very busy girl this past year!  She was involved in four 4-H projects: rabbits, electronics, sewing, and swimming.  Alison learned how to feed and groom her rabbit Mocha.  She showed Mocha at a youth exposition and earned a ribbon.  In the electronics project, Alison took apart several devices to identify their parts.  She used a kit to create a lamp, a flying saucer, and an emergency alarm.  Next year, Alison wants to learn about robots.  Sewing became one of Alison’s favorite projects.  She made an apron out of dish towels and won second place at the LaHabra Valley Community Fair.  Alison is almost ready to start next year’s sewing project – a shepherd’s tunic.  Alison maintains her physical fitness in the swimming project.  She is learning breastroke and diving.  Although Alison admits that she needs to learn how to float, she really just wants to, “learn how to swim fast!”

Alison’s four projects have kept her very busy, but she makes time for community service as well.  This past year, she donated over 70 hours of her time to community improvement.  Alison has worked at Operation Military Kids events, made Valentines, donated stuffed animals, and decorated pumpkins and boxes for the needy.  Alison also worked on her public speaking skills by giving project reports.  She wrote articles for her club’s newsletter and ran for the hospitality position.  “I’m looking forward to another super year in 4-H,” says Alison.
