Hannah, Lockwood 4-H, Monterey County
Hannah is a resident of Lockwood in Monterey County, where, as she puts it, “there is perfect balance between city and country.” Despite being a newer member, Hannah has jumped into 4-H with both feet, enrolling in projects like scrapbooking, jewelry, and photography. The jewelry project is Hannah’s favorite, because she made beautiful earrings and a necklace. Last year she also participated in the horse and pony and mini-gardens projects.
Besides these projects, Hannah also participates in community events. She has helped with many of her club’s events, including the Wildflower Triathlon, Community Center Clean-Up, and public service announcements on KRKC radio. She hopes to chair some of these committees in the future, and she may run for a 4-H club office next year.
While admitting that, like so many 4-Hers, “It is sometimes difficult for me to balance my time because I like to do other things like sports,” Hannah is looking forward to the new 4-H year. She says, “My last two years in 4-H have been a blast, and next year will be even better!”
