4-H Military Chartered Club Program

The Military 4-H Club program is a partnership of National 4-H Headquarters; U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Air Force Family Member Programs (FMP) to establish 4-H Clubs on ACTIVE Air Force installations (sites).

As a result of 4-H partnering with the Air Force, 4-H clubs have become an integral programming component for Air Force school-age youth programs.

4-H clubs offer opportunities for military youth to explore new interests and gain skills in leadership, decision making, technology, science, environmental stewardship, and community service.  In addition to learning-by-doing in their club, military youth have an opportunity to participate with other 4-H youth in county and state programs.

Testimonials

"I think my favorite project we did last year was the microwave cooking project.  I am still making the fudge, and I get to make the egg recipe for my family sometimes.  They really like it.  It kinda makes me feel more independent. Since I did the photography project I am the one who takes all the pictures in the family now, but that’s okay with me. It’s nice that my best friends are in the projects with me.  It makes it fun for me. I liked being secretary because it made me feel important. I love being in 4-H because I’m learning something new all the time." - Alexis, military youth

"We are trying to get kids outside and active. We want the children to not only have fun, but learn while doing so." - Carola Murdock, youth center program assistant
