Program Design & Activities

When designing a quality 4-H camp experience, most people think of the activities that happen at camp.  However, activities are only one aspect of camp program design.  Program is about everything that happens at camp:  sleeping arrangements, doing chores, traditions, and scheduling.  It is also about how things are done at camp:  whether days are pre-scheduled, age-appropriate, camper or staff designed, youth or adult led.  How the camp program is designed will produce different outcomes for campers and staff.

In order to assess your awareness of your camp’s program design, please answer each question below. After you have completed this assessment, you will be directed to a website where you can get additional resources to help you expand your skills, knowledge and abilities on planning a quality camp program.
