Click one of the buttons below to learn more about each type of program.
Step 3: Contact the Club Leader or your county 4-H Representative.
Contact the Club Leader for the club you are interested in joining to let them know you are signing up for 4-H. They can give you more information about their club and the types of projects they offer.
Step 4: Choose a Project.
The Club Leader can let you know what projects are open for enrollment. You can choose the projects that sound interesting to you. Sign up for at least one project when you enroll.
4-H Projects are in one of four Focus Areas
Individual project offerings are different in each club/program, but all projects fall in four Focus Areas. Click a button below to learn more about the types of projects in each area.
Step 5: Create a profile in 4hOnline.*
4hOnline is our online system to sign up members and volunteers in 4-H. Family members are grouped together in one family profile. Only one family profile for all family members, please! If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian enter the information because you will have to submit medical release forms through the system. Please use an email that you will check regularly because that is how we will confirm your enrollment and send communications to you. Download instructions: New Member - How to enroll in 4hOnline
*NOTE: The 4hOnline system is only in English. For Spanish, please use the paper enrollment packet in Spanish and turn it in to your club leader or county staff for them to enter it into 4hOnline for you. If you use paper forms, please keep a copy for your records. You will also have to check back with your county 4-H Program Representative for your membership status.
Step 6: Submit program fees.
Your Club Leader will collect your program fees and log in to 4hOnline to confirm when payments are received. You must have your 4hOnline family profile updated so your enrollment can be processed. In addition to the State 4-H fees, your county and club may have additional fees, depending on the project(s) you choose.
Once your county 4-H office reviews the enrollment, you will receive an email sent to the Family email account listed in 4hOnline to confirm your enrollment status as Active.
If you filled out a paper enrollment form, you will have to check with your county 4-H Program Representative for your membership status. They will give you the 4hOnline login for your membership so you can keep it updated.
Once your membership is active, you can start participating in 4-H events and activities!
