Spotlight-Leonora
Sixteen-year-old Leonora exclaims, “If you had asked me five years ago, ‘What do you know about 4-H?’ I would have had nothing to contribute.  Now whenever I hear the word 4-H I pop right into the conversation with, ‘Eh? What are we talking about? I love 4-H!’”

Leonora, a passionate fan of 4-H, brings a unique set of talents and achievements to her 4-H experiences.  Leonora, who likes to be called Lea, has been a member of Orange County’s Fullerton Feeders, Breeders, and Seeders 4-H club for five years.

Lea began her 4-H involvement because of her interest in the Horseless Horse project, which continues to be one of her successful projects.  She has since continued her 4-H activities with the computers and fine arts projects.  Her fine arts project inspired her to consider a career as a book illustrator and animator.  Her work with the club website not only improved and expanded the site, but it also won a best in show award at the Orange County Youth Expo.  Lea melds both computers and fine arts together with her computer art generated in Adobe Photoshop, which won another best in show.

Lea’s work outside her projects is just as impressive.  Lea is the teen leader of the Horseless Horse project, the editor of Antenna (her club’s newsletter), and a youth representative on her County 4-H Council.  As for next year, this dynamo girl has it covered: “Though my schedule gets crowded with events and people, I am convinced that 4-H is and will continue to be a positive influence for me.  4-H will always have a significant place in my life.”
