Lauren, Lockwood 4-H Club, Monterey County
Lauren first heard about 4-H because her friends told her about their fun projects. Now Lauren is making her own 4-H memories! Leathercrafting is Lauren’s favorite project because, “you can make a bracelet and put whatever you want on it.” Lauren has also been involved in community clean-ups, fundraisers, and food and clothing drives. One of Lauren’s goals was to earn her bronze star ranking. She maintained her involvement and earned this prestigious award in her first year!
Lauren has gained many skills through her 4-H experiences, including public speaking. Lauren states that she discovered how to have “patience, not to horseplay when working with tools or in the kitchen, and to take responsibility of keeping track of everything.” She says she learned how to help others and how to contribute to her community.
Lauren thanks her mom, her 4-H Club Leader, and her friends for supporting her and for showing her how to become a good 4-Her.
