Rosalind, Mesa Goathill Go-Getters 4-H Club, Orange County
Rosalind set goals for herself in each of these projects and worked hard to accomplish them. She learned how to become a good archery shooter, how to successfully find birds, and how to notice small details in a museum.
In her projects, Rosalind also incorporated citizenship. “The meaning of citizenship to me is a person who is loyal, truthful and environmentally friendly to their community,” says Rosalind. She tries her best to live up to this definition by giving back to her community. Rosalind reads to kindergarteners at her local elementary school and cleans up local beaches. Because of her commitment to the community, Rosalind has been elected as community chairperson for next year!
Rosalind says she feels “a lot more confident” after her time in 4-H. She is better at communicating her ideas and has found a passion for public speaking. Rosalind has also found that participating in 4-H has positively affected her schoolwork. Rosalind sums up her 4-H experience by stating, “Being a 4-H member means that you help the community and that you are kind and helpful.”
